Leadtek 95XX Bluetooth GPS receiver review

Verdict:

Review Date: 26 Jun 2006

Price when reviewed: inc VAT

Reviewed By: Chris Finnamore

Our Rating 4 stars out of 5

PDA and smartphone GPS navigation software requires a GPS receiver to work. Leadtek's 95XX is a tiny Bluetooth GPS receiver with the latest SiRFstar III GPS chip.

Pairing the device with an MDA Vario smartphone running CoPilot 6 was simple. Bluetooth is automatically enabled when you switch on the receiver. Getting a satellite fix took just 45 seconds.

The SiRFstar III chip is also extremely sensitive. This GPS receiver is a very easy-to-use and good value, but if you already have a Bluetooth receiver, there's little point in upgrading.
