PC World offers free laptops with subscription packages 5:42PM, Wednesday 2nd July 2008
PC World has launched a new scheme to offer mobile broadband and digital TV subscriptions bundled with hardware. The Get Connected scheme sees the retailer slash laptop prices for customers who opt to subscribe to its connectivity services.

With up to £450 off all laptops - and selected Sony, Dell, Toshiba, Compaq, Acer, Asus and Advent laptops are available for free, depending on the mobile tariff - the initiative sees PC World adopting a model similar to mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse. The scheme is currently only available in-store.

"Connectivity and content services are as important to customers as the hardware they buy," said Glenn Orchard, head of commercial development at PC World. "Get Connected reflects customer demand for a complete, one-stop solution that provides a way for our customers to not only get a great deal on a laptop, but also get connected to the right service."

PC World offers mobile broadband from £10 per month from Vodafone, T-Mobile and 3. The retailer also offers home broadband and digital TV packages through Virgin Media, BT and Sky.
