Retailing at ?180, the Vado HD has HDMI connectivity and a supplied HDMI cable, supporting high definition output to a HDTV at up to 1080i. It also includes 8GB of built-in memory to carry up to two hours of HD video.
"We designed the Vado HD so people can easily shoot all of life's spontaneous and fun moments, and then come home and watch the videos on their HDTVs - all with high definition quality," said Steve Erickson, VP and general manager for audio and video with Creative.
"Users can upload their videos to a PC, or even watch them on their flat screens in HD quality. The Vado HD delivers 1080i high-definition video to an HDTV with the convenience of an HDMI connection."
According to Creative, the Vado HD supports one-click video upload to ensure fast and easy sharing of video on YouTube and Box.net, and has a built-in USB connector that can be plugged directly into a PC. The camera comes pre-loaded with Vado Central software, which shows thumbnails of video clips and lets users preview them or copy them to a PC.
