Voix's dramatic looking MPX is expensive for a set of 2.1 speakers, but the audio quality justifies the price.
The speaker units are just over a metre tall. A cover on the powered right-hand unit flips up to reveal an iPod dock and a 3.5mm stereo input. There are also several auxiliary RCA outputs so you can connect additional speakers.
We were astonished by the power of the woofer at the bottom of the right-hand unit. Each tower has four woofers to handle mid-range tones, with a tweeter in the middle of the stack. They filled our room with rich and expansive sound.
The speaker stands are fiddly to assemble and the accompanying remote control feels small, cheap and unresponsive, but these are minor flaws. The speakers look great, and they produced crystal-clear sound. They're not cheap, but they're a great choice if you can afford them. Just make sure you buy the latest version, which supports all current iPods.
