Our Rating
We were sceptical of Creative's grand claims for its latest 2.1 speaker set, but the GigaWorks T3 quickly lived up to its billing of musical excellence.
The speakers sounds rich, detailed and precise, while the bass is deep and throbbing. Despite their small size, the satellites are easily loud enough to annoy the neighbours.
Bass is adjusted by a dial on the back of the small subwoofer, although it is inconveniently placed if you want to make adjustments on a regular basis. There's no need to crawl under your desk to connect earphones or an MP3 player, though, as the line-in and headphone jacks are located on the line-in volume control for easy access.
Creative's GigaWorks T3 speakers cost more than some monitor speakers, such as ESI's nEar 05 (reviewed in Labs, Shopper 244). However, if you want something that sounds more lively and looks more stylish than monitor speakers, they will more than justify the cost.
