Scythe Kama Bay Speaker Ace review

Verdict:

We can't think of any reason to buy the Kama Bay Speaker Ace - it won't even replace your monitor speakers.

Our Rating 2 stars out of 5

The Kama Bay Speaker Ace is an unusual set of speakers which slot into a spare drive bay PC's 5.25in drive bay. On its rear is a port for a four-pin molex power connector and a standard 3.5mm audio jack.

A PCI backplate with a hole in it is included, this allows the audio cable to run from your PC's rear audio port to the Kama Bay Speaker Ace.

The Speaker Ace is surprisingly loud, but audio quality is very poor. Music sounds very muddy with little bass and distorts easily. We can't think of any reason to buy the Kama – as it doesn't sound much better than most monitor speakers.

If you have enough room for a desktop PC with spar e drive bays, you'll likely have room for a better sounding pair of speakers.
