Mesh will pay you to upgrade to Windows 7
Posted on 9 Jul 2009 at 11:23
Mesh is offering anyone that buys a Windows Vista PC or laptop £5 and a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it's launched on 22 October 2009.
Unlike similar schemes from HP and Fujitsu, Mesh is offering the free upgrade with every computer it sells, not just specific models.
Customers that buy a new computer now should register on the www.windows7upgrade.com website after 31 August 2009. Microsoft will then ship out the upgrade CD after Windows 7 launches on 22 October 2009.
The upgrade will take your operating system from its current edition of Windows Vista to the nearest edition of Windows 7. So, Vista Home Premium is upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows Vista Basic is updated to Windows 7 Professional and Windows Vista Ultimate is upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate.
In all cases the 32-bit versions of Windows Vista can only be upgraded to 32-bit versions of Windows 7, and 64-bit editions to other 64-bit editions.
