Samsung enters UK desktop PC market with two new all-in-one models

Samsung has entered the British desktop PC market for the first time with two all-in-one touchscreen models, the 23 inch U250 and the 20 inch U200.
Until now the only computers Samsung has sold in the UK have been laptops, although the company does make desktop PCs for its home market of South Korea.
Samsung’s announcement of its two touchscreen models doesn’t come as a total surprise however, as we managed to get a sneak peek at the U200 back in February.
The 23 inch U250 will have a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels, while the 20 inch U200 will have a resolution of 1,600x900. Both models will come with Windows 7 Home Premium installed, but Samsung hasn’t been able to confirm if it will bundle any other software to take advantage of the touch-sensitive screens.
Samsung has also yet to confirm specifications and pricing, but the demonstration U200 we saw was equipped with a 2.2GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core T4400 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard disk, an integrated DVD writer and a 512MB Nvidia G310M graphics chip.
Both PCs will be available in May, but only from PCWorld which has areas inside many of its stores dedicated to touchscreen PCs. The U200 and U250 aren’t the first Samsung computers to be available exclusively from PC World – that honour goes to the N150 netbook. We’ll bring you full reviews as soon as we can.
