Power Mac G4 867MHz DP review
The bottom-end Power Mac features dual 867MHz processors, a 133MHz system bus, 256K of Level 2 cache running at 867MHz and 1Mb of backside Level 3 cache per processor.
It ships with 256Mb of PC2100 SDRAM, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 2Gb by placing 512Mb in each of the four available slots. A 60Gb Ultra ATA hard drive comes fitted as standard, and there's room for three more hard drives. These can be all ATA, all SCSI (with the appropriate PCI card installed) or a combination of both.
There's a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive in the upper optical drive bay, and below it there's another bay for a second optical drive, which can be fitted with a DVD-R/CD-RW SuperDrive. The graphics card in the 867MHz DP is an Nvidia GeForce4 MX with 32Mb DDR RAM, which has both an ADC and DVI interface. The connectivity options are two FireWire ports, two USB ports, 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet, a 56K v.92 modem, and an AirPort slot and antennae. The analogue input mini-jack makes a welcome return, alongside the analogue output and dedicated Apple Pro Speaker sockets.
