Many graphics cards have noisy fans, but silent, fanless cooling kits are large and heavy.
Zalman's VF700-Cu is a good compromise. An 80mm fan draws air over two crescents of copper fins and eight spiky heatsinks fitted to the onboard RAM. It's an unusual arrangement but it means the VF700 will clear most cards' components - although the neighbouring PCI slot must be left empty.
Fitting the cooler is not a task for the novice. The copper version we tried is heavy and difficult to hold in place while lining up the screws. It's very effective, though, and virtually silent at the lower fan speed. It's an able and distinctive cooler, but quite expensive.
