Our Rating
Silver Power's SP-350P1B is a budget 350W power supply, but it has a reasonable number of connectors.
There are seven Molex, two SATA and one PCI Express connector. The PSU also has two 80mm fans on the front and rear, to push and pull air over the components.
Considering it costs just a few pounds more than the Hiper and Aries PSUs, the SP-350P1B performed well in our stability tests. It was capable of supplying its rated 350W for our 30-minute burn-in test, and while the 3.3V rail's voltage dropped at 100% load it still conformed to the ATX specification. Unlike the 400W Silver Power PSU, the 350W version struggled during the burn-in test, with a slight grinding sound at 100% load turning into a loud buzzing after half an hour. Efficiency also dropped to 65% during the stress test.
Considering its price, the SP-350P1B is an impressive PSU. However, it is noisy and not very efficient at 100% load, so it is worth spending £9 more on the 400W version
