Genius KB C100 review

Verdict:

The KB C100 is certainly cheap, but feels poor. You can get a far better set for not much more.

Our Rating 2 stars out of 5

At a little under £8 including VAT, the Genius KB C100 is almost ridiculously cheap.

In fact, if you buy it online the shipping costs could be more expensive than the keyboard itself. We wanted to see if it was a great bargain, or just a false economy.

The keyboard and mouse are made from shiny black plastic. Both would fit in well on any desk, although the lone purple button on the keyboard looks a bit odd. They're wired, so there's no need to worry about changing batteries, and both use an old-fashioned PS/2 connection. This means that they won't attach to some modern laptop computers, as many don't have PS/2 ports any more.

The keyboard's keys have a rather unpleasant, squishy feel. It'll suffice if you only ever type web addresses and short emails, but you wouldn't want to type on it for long periods. The optical mouse is extremely light, and its buttons make a very loud, slightly annoying clicking sound.
