Logitech ChillStream review

Verdict:

Our Rating 4 stars out of 5

The design of Logitech's ChillStream closely resembles that of Microsoft's Xbox 360 controller.

The buttons have the same layout and colours, plus there's an indicator to show which player number you are in multi-player games. The analogue triggers would benefit from a bit more travel, but are perfectly sprung. The analogue sticks are excellent, with just enough resistance to make them accurate without being tiring.

There are six air vents arranged around the grips of the pad, and a fan inside blows air through them as you play. A button allows you to disable the fan or choose one of two power settings. We found that the low setting was sufficient to keep your hands cool, while the high setting made a distracting whirring noise. It's an ingenious and unusual feature.

The ChillStream pad is a little on the small side, so it's slightly uncomfortable for those with big hands. If you have smaller hands it's a decent and inexpensive gamepad, but it's outclassed by the Xbox 360 wireless controller.
