To use the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller on a PC you'll also need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. Once that's installed, this joypad needs no further software or setup. Pushing the sync button connects it instantly.

This is by far the most comfortable pad to hold. The buttons have just the right resistance, and the triggers have plenty of travel and are perfectly sprung. The analogue joysticks are the best we've ever used, with subtle motions translated perfectly and no annoying dead zone in the centre.

This is the best joypad available, but at £28 plus £15 for the receiver it's also the priciest. If you want a wireless controller, it's ideal. If you are happy with wires and want to save some cash, the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows is identical but wired and costs just £23.
