Our Rating
Logitech's larger joystick has none of the stability problems suffered by the Attack 3.
The wide base keeps it flat on the desktop during all but the most frantic gameplay. The stick itself has a little more resistance. This makes holding precise banking turns easier, but it does also make it more tiring to use over long periods.
The buttons on the base don't have enough travel or feedback, and on occasions we thought we'd lowered the landing gear on our plane only to find out we hadn't. The throttle is easy to use, however, and the joystick twists to give you rudder control. The top of the stick holds a POV hat and five buttons, as well as a basic trigger. It's very comfortable to hold, but the design isn't suitable for left-handed pilots.Logitech's configuration software is excellent and it allows you to assign any keyboard command or macro to any button.
The Extreme 3D Pro is a great joystick, with its stability and throttle making it ideal for fast-paced dogfights.
