Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel review

Verdict:

Review Date: 22 Jun 2007

Price when reviewed: inc VAT

Reviewed By: Seth Barton

Our Rating 2 stars out of 5

This steering wheel requires the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows to connect to your PC.

It also needs a mains power connection. It can be used on your lap or clamped to a table. The desktop clamp isn't very firm, so the wheel rocked a little during use. The directional pad and buttons are easily reachable while you're racing. There are two paddles for switching gears, but there's no gearstick.

The wheel provides force feedback when used with an Xbox 360, but not with a PC. The wheel also has a rather large dead zone, which makes straightening up after a corner much harder than it should be.

The pedals are lightly sprung and easy to depress, but this makes it harder to be precise when easing back on the power. The foot rest in front doesn't work very well, either. Other wheels in the group are far better than this one.
