Our Rating
Like Logitech's Desktop Wave, the ORCA keyboard is very stylish. Where the Wave is futuristic, the ORCA is retro and looks very smart with its black and white finish.
Like Saitek's C100X, the keyboard has flat laptop-style keys, but unlike the Saitek it has a standard layout with plenty of room for a numeric keypad. The keys are very large, so it's easy to hit the right ones when typing. They have a surprising amount of travel and a pleasing clicky action. At first we thought this was one of the best keyboards in the group, but after a while we realised that the keys weren't quite right; the feedback and weighting changed depending on where we struck each key. Ideally, the keys should have the same weighting no matter where you strike them.
The ORCA's mouse is impressive. Its asymmetrical shape is very comfortable to hold as long as you're right-handed, and its motion is incredibly smooth. Cherry's ORCA set is pleasing in many ways, but the keyboard isn't good enough to justify the price.
