Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 review
At £83, the MX 5500 set is very expensive.
Its textured rubber feels classy. The keyboard has an LCD screen that can show the time, the temperature, the number of times the keys have been pressed, your email inbox and details of the media file you're playing.
The keyboard has a full set of programmable media playback controls and short cut keys. Its layout is sensible and the keys are the size they should be and have plenty of travel. As with the LX710 keyboard, some testers thought the keys didn't offer enough resistance when pressed.
The mouse has an integrated rechargeable battery and sits on a charging stand when not in use. Its textured plastic and curvy shape fit well in the hand, and it's accurate and smooth.
The MX 5500 is a great keyboard and mouse set, but the LCD screen feels like a gimmick and it doesn't offer enough to justify the extra £56 over Logitech's LX710 set.
