Plustek OpticFilm 7600i Series is finally available in UK

Plustek's excellent OpticFilm 7600i negative scanners can now be bought from UK retailers.

Office 999 is selling the great value
OpticFilm 7600i SE for £243 inc VAT and the OpticFilm 7600i Ai for £355 inc VAT.

The only difference between the two is the software that comes with them; the Ai comes with a full version of LaserSoft Imaging's Silverfast Ai IT8 Studio (Multi-Exposure) 6.6 professional photo-scanning suite. However, we recommend buying the 7600i SE and spending £50 on a copy of our Hamrick Software's VueScan Professional, a powerful, inexpensive and easy-to-use alternative for Windows, Mac and Linux computers. We gave VueScan a Best Buy award in Shopper 248.

We reviewed the scanner in Shopper 259, but last-minute UK distribution problems meant that we had to list a German retailer. Now it's properly available over here, we wholeheartedly recommend it if you're serious about archiving your negatives.
