Inkjet print costs stabilise over 2009
Posted on 22 Oct 2009 at 15:35
Inkjet print costs have, on average, dropped by more than half a penny per page since last year. The monthly average mixed-colour cost per page of inkjets reviewed in Shopper this year is just 7.2p, compared to 7.8p in 2008's.
At the end of 2008, we published a graph showing that the average cost of printing a mixed black and colour page had increased to 8.4p by our December 2009 issue (Shopper 250).
This appeared to be a general trend and we expected to see print costs rise through 2009. We've been pleasantly surprised to see a downward trend, with costs as low as 4.5p from even inexpensive printers like HP's £62 Officejet 6000.
You'll be able to check out the costs and quality of the latest single- and multi-function inkjets from all the major players in Shopper 263.
