Canon Laser Shot LBP-5200 review
Verdict:
The Laser Shot is inexpensive, but it's too slow and produces unexceptional prints

Our Rating
The LBP-5200 has the most generous toner cartridges in this group test, as well as the lowest colour page costs.
However, its drum has the shortest life and will need replacing after 5,000 colour pages. It also has the most basic paper input tray of the printers in this test, with no manual feed.
Although it only connects to your PC through USB and not a network port, its install program threw up a slightly disconcerting dialogue box prompting us to remove a Windows XP firewall block.
The Laser Shot produced the least accurate colours in our test documents. Skin tones in photographs were warm and ruddy, while the colours in our PowerPoint slides were way off the mark. The driver has many different colour settings, but none of them seemed able to improve our results. It was also slow to print mono text and had below average colour speed.
