Our Rating
The Via fits old Socket 370 motherboards.
And with yesterday's technology comes yesterday's performance - as you can see from our graphs (right). In its favour, however, the C3 is incredibly cheap - and if you have a Socket 370 motherboard, it's the only upgrade you can still buy. And whereas most processors get very hot when performing stressful tasks, the C3 requires very little cooling - making it ideal for small, compact cases such as those used for home servers. For this reason the C3 gets a decent score, despite its lowly performance.
