Our Rating
Cooler Master's latest Socket A heat sink does away with the traditional fan, swapping it for a blower, which supposedly eliminates the dead spot behind a normal fan's centre.
It's not easy to prove, but it successfully cooled an Athlon XP 3200+ (the fastest processor recommended) when run at high RPM. At top speed, this type of fan makes a rather nasty noise - a bit too much in keeping with its jet engine appearance. Fortunately, the fan has manual speed control, and at low revs it's fairly quiet. This is more a looker than a performer, so if you like the idea but don't need the flashing LEDs you're better off with the budget Aero model.
