3M gets partner for UK MPro150 launch

3M has announced a partnership with UK wholesale distributor Widget which will see the company's MPro150 micro projector hitting UK stores imminently.
The 3M MPro150 is the latest in the company's range of ultra-portable battery-powered projectors, and aims to bring simplified portable presentation capabilities to business users. Rather than relying on a notebook or netbook to provide the image, the MPro150 has a 1GB in-built memory which can be loaded with files for later use.
Supporting Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel formats along with Adobe PDF documents, BMP and JPEG images, and MPEG-4 and H.264 video, it's perhaps surprising the amount that can be achieved without hooking the MPro150 up to a PC.
If you're hoping to project full-length videos, however, 1GB won't get you very far - but thankfully 3M will be supplying the MPro150 with an additional 2GB microSD card, which can be swapped out for a larger unit at a later date.
While the thrust of 3M's design is for the MPro150 to be a standalone device, for those who need the ability to hook up an external device it features VGA and composite audio-video connections, along with an audio output jack.
Sadly, the micro size of the MPro150 does come at a cost - the projector is only capable of a 640x480 resolution, which won't exactly do high-definition content justice.
The MPro150 is expected to hit retail availability in the UK shortly, at an estimated £350 price point.
