iPlayer now available on Freesat via Red Button service

The BBC's iPlayer service is now available on Freesat. Humax is the first company with compatible products, and both its Foxsat-HD Freesat set-top box and Foxsat-HDR Freesat hard disk recorder support the on-demand service via the Red Button on the remote.
To access iPlayer, users will need to connect their set-top box to their broadband router via Ethernet in order to get a network connection. Then, from any BBC channel, users need to press the Red Button and select BBC iPlayer Beta from this list.
“We are excited about being the first to offer this fantastic new service via the set-top box. Our customers enjoy being in control of their TV viewing and BBC iPlayer on Freesat gives them even more freedom to watch what they want, whenever they want to,” said Graham North, commercial director at Humax.
Freesat devices are required to have a network port and support BBC iPlayer, so other devices, including TVs, should have the service soon.
