Apple begins free iPhone 4 case program
Posted on 23 Jul 2010 at 22:01
Apple has launched an app which allows iPhone 4 owners to claim a free case. Simply search for 'iPhone 4 case' on the app store (or in iTunes) and install Apple's free app. When you run the app, you'll get a choice of a black Apple bumper (no other colours are available), or several others.
If you don't want a basic bumper, you can also choose between InCase, Belkin, Griffin and Speck cases. These include clear and smoked polycarbonate protectors, plus those which are a combination of a rubber bumper and hard rear shell. The app lets you see photo galleries of each case, so you can zoom in and see what the case looks like in detail.
The scheme will save you up to £25 buying a case, although we suspect that many will already have purchased a case to either protect their expensive new phone - or to alleviate the 'death grip' problems with reception.
If you bought your iPhone 4 on or before 23rd July, you have to apply before 22nd August, otherwise within 30 days of purchase. The scheme will apply to all iPhone 4s bought before 30th September 2010.
If you already bought a bumper from Apple, you can claim a refund, including any shipping costs. For more details, see Apple's website.
