News[/a], the deal sees Samsung team up with US-based cosmetics manufacturer Aveda to launch the Galaxy S Femme - a package which Samsung hopes will get more women interested in its latest smartphone.
Those who decide to splash out on the device will find themselves in possession of a pink, but otherwise pretty standard, Galaxy S Android smartphone along with a 4GB microSD card - but it's what Aveda brings to the table that makes the offer interesting.
In what is thought to be the first deal of its kind, the Galaxy S Femme will include custom-made software from Aveda that advises women how to keep their skin and hair in tip-top condition - while doubtless carrying fairly heavy advertising for the company's range of beauty products.
As well as the handset and its software, the Galaxy S Femme package includes a travel kit with creams, cleansers, and cosmetics from Aveda's range of products.
It's an interesting, and risky, strategy for Samsung to take: while it could well succeed in capturing a percentage of the lucrative female market, its use of pink and beautifying products has a chance of alienating as many modern women as it attracts.
The company has not yet offered a hint as to expected pricing, and so far there's no news as to whether the Galaxy S Femme package will get a UK launch.
