Virgin Mobile goes mad for Android phones
Posted on 17 Mar 2010 at 14:54
Virgin Mobile has decided to move big time into the Android phone market, with four new handsets due to arrive on its network: the LG InTouch Max, Samsung Galaxy Portal, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and HTC Desire.
The launch dates of the Desire and Xperia X10 aren't known, but the fact that Virgin has put them in its line up suggests that they'll be due within the next month.
Samsung's Galaxy Portal is available now on a variety of contracts, with the handset completely free on 18-month, £22 contracts and above.
The same tariffs and free handset apply to the LG InTouch Max.
Virgin Mobile's move comes days after Three announced that it would be releasing six new Android handsets over the next few months, including models from Sony Ericsson and Samsung. It must be of some consolation to Google, after it was reported that its Nexus One phone had poor sales.
