Be broadband packages aren't available across the whole of the UK. You'll need to check the Be website to see if your area is covered. Be puts its own equipment in local BT exchanges, which allows for faster download speeds.
There are three packages on offer from Be. Be Value provides an 8Mbit/s service, which our survey showed was very fast at 6.62Mbit/s. Be Unlimited and Be Pro both offer the fastest connections on paper - a stunning 24Mbit/s. At a speedy 11.16Mbit/s, they came second in our survey, behind Virgin's 20Mbit/s cable service.
Upload speeds are also impressive, with up to 1.3Mbit/s on Be Value and Unlimited, and up to 2.5Mbit/s with Be Pro. Customer service was also good, with high scores in all our categories. All the packages come with a free wireless router, although there is a £24 installation cost. No hard and fast download limit is given, and all Be's services are governed by a fair-usage policy.
Be Unlimited is an excellent package for anyone who wants fast broadband, and Be Pro is a useful alternative if you upload lots of files. Be Value is also a good choice, but O2's 16Mbit/s Premium service costs just £1 more.
