Facebook not going back

Facebook is shifting completely to its new layout, removing the option to use the old interface. The social networking site is rejecting pleas from hundreds of thousands of users to revert back to the original style, insisting the new layout is the "best Facebook yet".
Users have set up dozens of groups, campaigning to bring back the "old Facebook"; each group attracting from around 1,000 to 200,000 users. However, Facebook reckons that most of the 30 million users who have used the new site prefer it, and the rest will learn to love it.
"The new design is different, and we understand that some people will be uncomfortable with the changes," admitted Mark Slee, product manager for the new Facebook. "But over time, we think people will appreciate the advantages of the new design and the new features it offers."
Slee reckons the new version is simpler, cleaner, more relevant, and easier to control, and insists that the website has taken on board feedback from 600,000 users in simplifying the site.
He also said the networking site cannot maintain both versions, and had only been offering the option to use both versions to help users adapt to the new format at their own pace.
"We know it can be hard to get used to things being in different places, which is why we wanted to make it easy to switch back and forth for a little while, in order to learn where everything went, and how the new site works."
The website also recently announced that is has amassed 100 million users from around the world.
