iChat offline, Adium disconnected
Posted on 13 Jan 2009 at 07:58
Apple is warning that iChat users may not have access to instant messaging this morning.
AOL has scheduled maintenance to the servers that power both Apple’s and its own IM services.
The work was due to begin at 8am GMT and last for three hours. Anyone logged in beforehand should remain connected. New login attempts during the maintenance are likely to fail.
Meanwhile Adium users are currently unable to connect to Microsoft’s MSN/Windows Live Messenger service.
According to the Adium blog, Microsoft’s servers have stopped accepting logins from clients that use version 15 of its IM protocol. Until Microsoft fixes the problem, Adium 1.3.2 users should either revert to version 1.3.1 or use Microsoft’s own Messenger for Mac client; see MSN rejecting Adium 1.3.2 connections.
