Apple details MobileMe changes

Apple has detailed the latest changes to MobileMe, which were implemented in an update earlier this week.
Changes to Mail mean that forwarding or replying to HTML (rich text) messages now maintains the message’s original formatting instead of converting it to plain text; and unread message count is now displayed next to the inbox and each folder. The update also fixes a problem with email aliases not appearing correctly in Mac OS X Mail.
There are fixes for a couple of iDisk issues. Uploading to an iDisk Public folder with a web browser now correctly shows the completion status and the update addresses problems with email addresses failing to be recognised as valid when using file sharing.
Several of the changes are specific to iPhones and in some cases iPod touches running OS 3.0.
For Push Contacts and Push Calendar there is now an option to merge existing contacts and calendars on first sync and deleting a MobileMe account or turning off contact and calendar sync allows users to keep a copy of the data on the device. iPhone contacts that sync with MobileMe maintain ring tone associations.
On an iPhone or iPod touch, a user can search all messages including those stored on the MobileMe cloud. Search in the From, To, and Subject fields is supported.
For MobileMe Gallery users, an album is now automatically created if none exists, when publishing a photo or video from iPhone. And iPhone 3GS users can publish videos to an album.
The update is completed with changes to account handling that fix problems preventing the setup of some personal domains for iWeb hosting and preventing some expired accounts from being converted to Family Pack sub-accounts. And active accounts with no upgrades can be converted to Family Pack sub-accounts.
