The Government has decided to recognise the vital role played by Bletchley Park's workers during the war. Surviving military and civilians veterans will be honoured with a commemorative badge.
"I am delighted that the vital and secret work of Bletchley Park in the Second World War is being recognised," said David Miliband, the foreign secretary. "We owe a debt of gratitude to all who served at Bletchley Park and its outstations: I am proud to acknowledge their ingenuity, skill and determination which helped our country in its time of greatest need."
A short ceremony will be held at Bletchley Park on 16 July 2009, where the veterans will be presented with their commemorative badges.
