Windows 7 has shipped early

This Thursday's (22 October) postal strike means that UK customers will get their copies of Windows 7 early.
Early ship dates were authorised by Microsoft in a bid to beat the disruption caused by the national post strike which will take place this Thursday and Friday - starting on the day Windows 7 was due to launch.
Customers who ordered their copies from PC World and Curries have already announced that they have received their copies; people who ordered from other retailers should get their copies today or tomorrow.
PC World has also said that it will open its Tottenham Court Road branch at midnight on Wednesday night, so that customers that haven't pre-ordered can get their copies of Windows 7 on the stroke of the operating system's launch.
The first 200 shoppers through the door will get a massive 50 per cent discount, while anyone trading in an old computer to buy a new laptop will get a £100 store credit.
