Orange introduces 20Mb/sec broadband as standard

Orange has announced that it will make ??up to 20Mb/sec?? download speeds standard across all its home broadband packages with immediate effect. This will apply to all customers in Orange??s home broadband network areas.
The company is also introducing four new price plans from as little as £6.50 per month. All new customers will be able to able to download as much multimedia content as they want, with an unlimited usage allowance across all price plans. This is, of course, subject to a fair usage policy.
As part of the refresh, Orange??s Home Max package, which comes with a wireless router, will include evening and weekend UK landline calls. Home Max is free for the first three months, after which it will £6.50 per month to Orange mobile pay monthly customers, or £9.50 per month for everyone else. Customers will need to pay an additional £10.50 per month for line rental ??" a saving on BT??s standard £11.25 line rental charge.
Home Ultra is one of the new plans. It includes the Orange Livebox (Orange??s wireless router) which can connect up to six computers at any one time, and also enable those using the package to make any-time calls to 30 countries. Calls to UK landlines are also included. Home Ultra costs from £10.50 per month to Orange mobile pay monthly customers, and £13.50 for everyone else.
Finally, the no-frills options are Home Starter and Home Select. Home Starter comes with wireless home broadband as well as Orange??s landline service providing inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK landlines. It costs £7 per month for Orange pay monthly mobile customers and £10 per month if you??re not on an Orange contract. Home Select is aimed at customers who want stand-alone home broadband and costs from £9 per month to Orange pay monthly mobile customers, otherwise it costs £12. This package also includes a wireless router.
