Safari update boosts JavaScript, search and plugins
Posted on 12 Nov 2009 at 08:27
Apple has released a Safari update that addresses a number of performance issues and fixes half a dozen security flaws.
It provides performance improvements for JavaScript and for Full History Search where users have a large number of history items, as well as greater stability for third-party plugins, the search field and Yahoo! Mail.
The update also addresses six vulnerabilities that could variously lead to unexpected application termination, arbitrary code execution or disclosure of local information.
Safari 4.0.4 is available via Software Update or from support.apple.com/downloads. Details of the security component can be found in About the security content of Safari 4.0.4.
