Sky Player is now available on Windows Media Center. The application lets you watch live Sky channels and on-demand programming directly from your PC, and follows the launch of the service for the Xbox 360.
Existing Sky subscribers can watch a variety of on-demand programmes from channels that they currently subscribe to including Sky One. Users with Multiroom or Broadband Max accounts can also watch live channels from their current TV subscription, including G.O.L.D., Sky Arts 1, MTV and Sky Sports.
There's also the option to rent Box Office movies and episodes of popular TV shows, such as House and Lost.
Non-subscribers have a few choices. First, they can simply register for a Sky account and rent Box Office movies and some TV shows, by setting up a payment account. Secondly, they can pay for a subscription, which costs between £15 and £41 per month depending on the channels. However, this is relatively poor value compared to a standard TV account, where many of the on-demand services are free.
