It's hard to get excited about something as mundane as a calculator, but we all need them from time to time, and the one built into most Pocket PCs is mediocre enough to leave many wanting something better.
What's more, the choice of add-on calculator programs for Pocket PCs is surprisingly poor.
The latest version of NeoCal adds enough conversion, mathematical, financial, statistic and scientific functions to cater for all but the most specialised of requirements, all in a good-looking customisable package that's reasonably priced. Though most of us won't have much use for the statistical, scientific and programming features, NeoCal's extensive range of unit conversion functions are great to have around, whether you're trying to convert feet to metres or work out how many gallons there are to the cubic foot.
Many calculator programs require you to go through far too many steps in order to select your conversion type and perform the calculation, but with NeoCal everything is configured to work with just a couple of taps. There's no graphing, and a few specialist mathematical functions are absent, but for anyone in need of a good all-purpose calculator, this is recommended.
