Nick Jr review

Our Rating 4 stars out of 5

Nick Jr (junior) is a digital TV channel offshoot from Nickelodeon.

As the name suggests, Nick Jr is aimed at younger children. It is host to lots of well-known children's programmes, including Dora the Explorer, Thomas the Tank Engine and Angelina Ballerina. The games on the site reflect these programmes.

We found the website quite slow in loading pages compared to CBeebies, even though we were using broadband. And the site's layout isn't as child-friendly.

However, there are plenty of games and activities, and these are related to the show on which they're based. So, for example, with Angelina you can choreograph her dancing.

Although it isn't as comprehensive as CBeebies, it does have what most kids will want: familiar characters, engrossing games and lots of art activities that can be printed out and worked on away from the computer.
