Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 leaked ahead of official announcement

Samsung's fourth generation 10in Galaxy Tab has leaked online ahead of an official announcement from the company, in both black and white colours

Samsung appears to be working on a fourth generation Galaxy Tablet, with leaked images purportedly revealing the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 in both black and white colour choices. Seemingly designed to sit alongside the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition), the new tablet has a very similar design but seemingly runs a newer version of Android.

The leaked images come courtesy of @evleaks, the Twitter account responsible for sharing many early images of smartphones and tablets. If they prove accurate, The Galaxy Tab 4 will look very similar to the current device, albeit with the touch-sensitive Samsung menu button replaced with the more familiar Android multi-tasking button at the bottom of the device. A physical home button and touch-sensitive back button still make an appearance, despite Google pushing manufacturers towards the on-screen buttons of Android 4.4 KitKat.

This isn’t the first we’ve heard about Samsung’s new tablet range. The company accidentally revealed the existence of 7in, 8in and 10.1in Galaxy Tab devices on the compatibility page for the upcoming Gear Fit wearable, but these images give us our first look at the tablets.

The lock screen image has the same wallpaper as the Galaxy S5, and the white battery and clock icons suggest the device will be running KitKat – most likely with Samsung’s own Touchwiz interface running on top.

So far no specifications have been revealed, meaning we could be in for a wait until an official reveal, but as both leaked images have the 24th of April displayed prominently on their lock screens, that wait may not be a very long one.
