Live 3D football coming to pubs
Posted on 29 Jan 2010 at 10:53
Sky has said it will be broadcasting live football in 3D to selected pubs this weekend for the first time.
The broadcaster will be showing this Sunday's match between Arsenal and Manchester United in 3D. Nine selected pubs in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin will receive special LG 3D TVs from Sky, as well as the necessary 3D glasses, to show the match in 3D. Sky isn't publicising the names of the pubs to prevent them from being swamped.
Sky's 3D service will be available to all pubs with Sky+ HD subscriptions from this April, although they will have to pay extra to receive 3D broadcasts and 3D TVs have yet to go on sale in the UK.
