Sky kicks off 3D channel on 3rd April
Posted on 19 Mar 2010 at 11:55
Sky has announced that its 3D channel, Sky 3D, will start on 3rd April with a live showing of the Premier League match between Manchster United and Chelsea.
Initially Sky 3D will only be available in pubs and clubs, with Sky announcing that more than 1,000 have signed up already across the UK. This should give most of us a chance of seeing the channel in action.
After the initial game, at least five more Premier League games will be shown, plus the Championship play-off held at the end of May. In-between football matches, the channel will have a showreel demonstrating other programmes in 3D.
Sky 3D should then become available to consumers later in the year, and will not cost any extra for subscribers that already have a Sky+ HD box and the HD pack (an extra £10 a month on top of the normal subscription).
