Sky Player coming to Freeview TVs and set-top boxes

Sky's IPTV service -Sky Player - is already available on your PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and Windows Media Center, but now it's being rolled out to TVs and set-top boxes with Freeview tuners and - of course - some form of networking.
Agreements have been announced with British TV manufacturer Cello and set-top box maker 3View. We reviewed Cello's iViewer back in January, when it was the first TV which allowed you to watch BBC iPlayer without any other hardware.
Soon, owners will also get the ability to pay for the Sky Player service. Those who are already Sky customers may be able to access the content for free, depending on the viewing packs they've signed up for, while non-Sky customers will have to pay for subscriptions. There are four Sky Player viewing packs available: Entertainment, Sports, Movies and Sports & Movies, but the latter three require you to subscribe to the Entertainment pack as well.
"The coming together of ground-breaking video services like Sky Player with innovative platforms like Cello and 3View demonstrates the vibrancy of the evolving internet video on-demand sector," said Sky's director of on-demand Griff Parry. "We will continue to look at opportunities to distribute Sky Player across new platforms, to give consumers even more choice and control over how they access high-quality pay-TV content."
