Compared to most drives here, Sony's Micro Vault Midi is cheap-looking and feels flimsy. A switch on the side pushes the connector out of the drive's body, though there's no flap for protection from gunk or fluff when it's retracted.
The Micro Vault Midi's file transfer speeds were average for the group, but it was very slow in our photo read test. You can use the included file compression utility to squeeze more into the memory, but this slows things down further. Sandisk's Cruzer Contour is a better 8GB flash drive.
