The action takes place in 2012 in the confines of the Zone, an exclusion area around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor.

Different factions struggle for survival and the aim is to survive by fighting off desperate bandits, trigger-happy soldiers and radiation-fuelled monsters.

It's all impressively open-ended as you can take on the missions dotted around the huge environment in any order you like. Unforunately, the game's scope means there are quite a few bugs. However, there's still a lot of fun to be had.
