Google releases Chrome 4 with '1,500 new features'
Posted on 26 Jan 2010 at 17:18
Google has released Chrome 4 for Windows with startling promise that users "can access over 1,500 new features".
Of course, these new features aren't actually built-in, but are available as separate downloads as web browser extensions, which were previously available as a beta for Chrome 3. Google Extensions let you extend the browser's capabilities in the same way as Add-ons for Firefox.
The only other major new feature is Bookmark Sync, which lets you synchronise your bookmarks across multiple computers. All you need for this feature to work is a Google account.
Users can upgrade manually to Chrome 4 from Chrome 3 using the feature in the browser or download the latest version from Google's website. Automatic updates will take place within the next week.
