If your PC has a DVD drive, chances are you already own a software DVD player, but often the versions given away for free lack support for surround sound.

Not only does X-oom's DVD Player Deluxe include full support for up to eight channels of Dolby Digital audio, it even supports DTS, a feature usually limited to far more expensive players. All the usual options for letterboxing widescreen film, adding bookmarks and navigating through chapters are present, and the only problem we experienced was a brief stuttering of video and sound. If you want a software DVD player with good surround-sound support, this is a bargain.
