How to watch Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid: Live stream the Champions League Round of 16 fixture tonight

Trailing by one goal, Liverpool host Spanish side Atletico Madrid in tonight's second leg of the Champions League

Liverpool host Atletico Madrid at Anfield tonight. Kickoff is at 8pm and the game will be broadcast live on BT Sport in the UK.

In the first-leg between the two sides last month, Atletico Madrid scored one goal, meaning Liverpool will have to score at least two goals and keep a clean sheet to have any chance of progressing to the Champions League quarter-finals.

They’ll want to avoid joining Spurs as the next English side to be knocked out of the tournament. Tottenham Hotspur – who were also trailing 0-1 after the first leg – conceded three goals last night, thereby ending Jose Mourinho’s Champions League campaign.

Following their victory in the Champions League last year, Liverpool got off to one of the best-ever starts in the Premier League and went undefeated for 27 matches. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have since succumbed to three defeats in their last five games.

After Saul’s only goal gave Atletico Madrid the home advantage, Liverpool then lost 0-3 to Watford in the Premier League to end their unbeaten streak. In their next game, Chelsea defeated them 2-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Reds won 2-1 against Bournemouth, who are facing relegation in the Premier League, last weekend and they’ll be hoping for similar display to progress to the Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid have drawn their last two La Liga matches. They currently sit in the fifth position on the La Liga table, while Liverpool lead the Premier League with a massive 25-point lead over nearest rivals and defending Premier League champions, Manchester City.

The only Champions League channel is BT Sport after the broadcaster secured exclusive rights to the championship. There are a number of ways to watch BT Sport – even if you don’t have your broadband or TV with BT.

It really depends on how you want to watch, how much you want to pay and what TV provider you already have.

If you already have a BT broadband and TV package, BT Sport is included as standard so you can just switch over to the relevant channel numbers, which on BT TV are between 408-419 for SD or 430-432 for HD.

If you already have BT broadband and BT TV but signed up before BT Sport was added as standard (2015), you can add BT Sport to your bundle for an extra tenner a month.

If you already have BT broadband but not one of its TV bundles, you can add BT TV to your monthly package and BT Sport will be added automatically.
