Here’s every new laptop that uses Intel’s new 10th-gen chips

We list every new laptop that’s specced with the new chipsets

After Intel announced its new 10th-gen chips last month, we knew IFA 2019 would hold a litany of laptops sporting the company’s latest mobile processors and chipsets.

Among the most exciting new models launched at the tech trade show is the new Razer Blade Stealth, which offers more gaming performance than its svelte design would suggest. This is thanks to its 10th-gen Ice Lake generation Core i7 Ice Lake processor, which uses Intel’s new 10-nanometre process and gets the chip maker’s new Iris Plus integrated graphics.

According to a spokesperson we chatted to at Intel’s Open House event in Berlin, the ultraportable machine delivers “superior graphics to any current Xbox console”. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s an incredibly good-looking laptop to boot.

It’s just one of many devices at IFA 2019 that showcased Intel’s latest 10nm Ice Lake and 14nm Comet Lake processors. Dell, Acer and Asus – to name just a few manufacturers – are among the other Intel partners that launched laptops using the company’s brand-new 10th gen chips.

Before jumping straight in, it’d be amiss not to mention Intel’s new Project Athena, too. This is a program that means laptops that meet Intel’s set criteria are marked accordingly, although the manufacturer has yet to be specific about what those criteria are. Essentially, it’s an Intel-approved badge for quality laptops.

Intel said ahead of IFA 2019 that its partners would be announcing more new laptops that meet its set target specs for the innovation program. It might sound like yet another codename, but Project Athena (first announced at CES), could soon become the litmus test for a dependable performance laptop.

Indeed, the idea is that if a machine wears the “engineered for mobile performance” badge, you can be confident that it delivers a certain level of user experience, from battery life performance to the display.

At present, the list of machines that meet these requirements is a fairly short one (see bottom of article) that we expect to grow over the coming weeks and months. Without further ado, though, here is the list of laptops we’ve seen at IFA that use Intel’s new 10th-gen chips:
