The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is cheaper ahead of Black Friday
We called the Microsoft Surface Book 2 a “mighty but pricey” machine when we originally reviewed it. Well, that price just became more palatable, thanks to an early Black Friday offer from Amazon.
The omnipresent retailer has cut the cost of Microsoft’s hybrid laptop down from £2,499 to £1,899. It’s around a 25% saving, although be aware that the original cost is the recommended retail price, which Amazon hasn’t gone near in some time. Looking at the price history, the deal is closer to a £325 cut from the normal price.
Still, it’s a solid sub-£2,000 price for the laptop. In our four-star review, we called it a “laptop possessed of a unique set of capabilities,” which is high praise – even if it makes it sound like a love interest in a Jane Austen novel.
“It’s fast and powerful enough to game on, you can comfortably run any application you care to think of on it and the display is good enough for professional-level photo editing, illustration and video editing,” wrote our head of reviews, Jonathan Bray.
“You can even sketch and take notes on the screen if you really want to. If you need all these things, the 13.5in Surface Book 2 is currently unmatched. It’s essentially all the power of a desktop PC squeezed into a package you can comfortably carry around with you.”
The deal comes with the following specs: an Intel i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card and the Windows 10 Pro operating system.
